This IN-STOCK flag symbolizes the Irish American heritage. While the Irish flag has multiple meanings, this idea before you represents the integration of Irish immigrants into the fabric of the U.S. The green and orange in Ireland’s colors represent the Roman Catholics and the Protestants, with the white showing the lasting truce between them. The flag shows similarities to France’s flag because it was originally given as a gift from a small group of French women to Thomas Francis Meagher in 1848. The present did not become the national flag of Ireland until 1916 when it was raised in Dublin.
Since 1777 the United States flag has been modified 26 times. From Francis Hopkinson’s design that year, to the most widely known variant in 1779, the Betsy Ross 13 star design. Of course, today we have the 50 states represented by the stars that are situated within the “canton” or union. The 13 stripes of red and white represent the 13 British colonies that declared independence from Great Britain and became the first states in the U.S.
Brotherhood Designs Corporation incorporates the two countries flags combined as one to show that there is a commonality in belief in democracy and equality. We hope to share this new design and incorporate it within communities who share this belief and like to celebrate the two heritages.
