Flag #116 – University of Notre Dame Fire Department | Notre Dame, Indiana
Brotherhood Designs Corporation is incredibly honored to showcase Flag #116, a custom Engine Series American Flag, proudly created for the University of Notre Dame Fire Department.
Handcrafted from repurposed retired fire hose from District 2 in the northern part of Indiana, this one-of-a-kind patriotic masterpiece features the iconic Notre Dame blue and gold colors, the legendary gold interlocking ND logo, and the Notre Dame Fire Department's Maltese Cross. The flag also incorporates authentic fire hose couplings, symbolizing the strength, tradition, and brotherhood shared among firefighters.
On September 16, 2026, this special flag was officially unveiled at the University of Notre Dame, ahead of the Fighting Irish football game against Michigan State. The flag serves as a lasting tribute to the dedicated men and women of the Notre Dame Fire Department who work tirelessly to protect the university's students, faculty, visitors, and historic campus. This flag is proudly on display in the firehouse bay alongside the apparatus that protect the University.
A very special thank you to Johnson Controls, whose generous sponsorship made this flag build possible. We are especially grateful to Blake Batteast of Johnson Controls for his support and commitment to making this project a reality.
We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Assistant Chief Tim Hoeppner and the entire Notre Dame Fire Department for their hospitality, friendship, and the incredible opportunity to create a meaningful piece of artwork that celebrates their department's legacy of service.
We are proud to know that Flag #116 will be displayed at one of the most iconic universities in the country, honoring the firefighters who protect the Fighting Irish community.
