On Monday, August 17th, we had the privilege of delivering a very special memorial flag to Indianapolis Fire Department Station 18 in honor of Battalion Chief Barry Riddle.
Chief Riddle passed away on December 27, 2025, just two days after Christmas. We were honored to create this Squad Series flag as a lasting tribute to his life, his service, and the impact he made on his family and the Indianapolis Fire Department.
What makes this piece especially meaningful is something that will remain a permanent part of the flag. Barry’s widow, Cherryl, entrusted us with a vial containing a portion of Barry’s ashes. We carefully placed them inside the fire hose coupling incorporated into the flag, ensuring that a part of Barry will forever remain with this memorial.
We do not take the trust involved in creating pieces like this lightly. It was an incredible honor to create something for Cheryl, Barry’s family, and his brothers and sisters at IFD that will help preserve his memory for generations to come.
Rest easy, Chief Riddle. Your legacy of service will never be forgotten.
